Functional Movement Screen

Functional Movement Screen (FMS) identifies weaknesses that cause dysfunction in body mechanics to prevent injury & enhance performance. This philosophy is based on sound science, years of innovation, & current research of body movement.

Functional Screening, Assessment, & Corrective Strategies

FMS is a valuable tool for assessing how well your body moves. The goal of FMS is to reduce risk of potential injury by accurately identifying weaknesses & functional limitations. FMS is also a great strategy to enhance your athletic performance. It has been proven that higher Movement Screen Scores are directly related to faster reaction times & increased performance levels

Functional Movement Patterns

FMS documents, ranks, & grades movement patterns which are key for normal function. By screening these patterns, FMS identifies functional limitations & imbalances. These are issues that reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning, as well as distort body awareness.

FMS Score Evaluation

The FMS generates a Functional Movement Screen Score, which is used to target problems & track progress. This scoring system is directly linked to the most beneficial corrective exercises to help restore mechanically sound movement patterns.

Corrective Strategy

The professionals at Howard Chiropractic Clinic, SC monitor FMS scores to track the progress & identify specific exercises that will be most effective to restore proper movement & build strength in each individual.
