Chiropractic Care
Howard Chiropractic Clinic provides care for patients of all ages with a variety of health concerns through a non-invasive and drug-free approach.
What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care takes a natural approach in treating disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Our doctors use exam & palpation techniques to identify the root cause of the patients complaint. During the exam process patients are evaluated for tissue irregularities, impeded motion, functional motion, tenderness, muscle strength, stiffness, flexibility, and reflex abnormalities, which provides insight into structural or functional problems for the area of concern. Once the cause is established, the doctor will perform treatment applications including possibly manual manipulation to the area. These specific and gentle controlled maneuvers and forces manipulate soft tissue and mobilize joints, restoring proper position & functional motion, increasing circulation, and reducing inflammation.
Chiropractic Care FAQ’s
- Is chiropractic safe? Chiropractic treatments are safe and effective when performed by a Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic.
- How many treatments will it take? We do not have predetermined treatment plans. Every patient we see requires a unique timeline based on their circumstance and/or treatment goal. Once the patient has reached their goal and their complaint has been completely addressed, insuring they have fully recovered without reoccurrence, we may recommend they continue care on a maintenance basis.
- Will an adjustment hurt? Most adjustments are painless and patients experience immediate relief. However, when surrounding tissue is inflamed or irritated, toxins are released, and natural immune responses take place, some mild soreness and discomfort may occur.
- What is the popping sound? Synovial fluid, which is made up of dissolved gases, can buildup, an adjustment relieves this pressure and releases this, which causes the “popping” sound.
- Do you refer to other specialist? If we recognize a patients needs can be better addressed by a medical physician or specialist our doctors will refer you out for further evaluation and treatment with a highly qualified local specialist.
- How much will it cost? Costs vary by treatment goal. We will work with you to create a plan that addresses your needs at an affordable price. We also provide monthly payment plans for those uninsured.
